The 1866 Letter Stain

webassets/closeupstain.JPG

This is the mysterious stain at the top right of Peelers 1866 letter.
It has not yet been analyzed to determine it's chemical makeup or origin.

In 2003, as I looked thru my strongest loop to confirm the obscured 1866 date, I saw more typing, hidden under the stain.
.
.
The stain held a highly important secret, for a very, very, long time.
.
.
.
Is it possible that only Abner Peeler himself knew what was typed under the stain?
